Auburn Continues the Fight Against Retinal Degenerative Diseases

Arlington, VA –  Auburn Health Strategies continues its support of the fight against Retinitis Pigmentosa and other retinal degenerative diseases.

Auburn Health Strategies President, Robin Stombler, has a personal interest in the work of the Foundation. "My grandparents were part of a group that established the Foundation, then known as the RP Foundation, in the early 1970’s," she explained.  "To hear stories of how the Foundation grew from a group of interested individuals sitting in a living room to one of the highest rated charities in the country is astounding."

The Foundation funds leading-edge research in genetics, gene therapy, retinal cell transplantation, artificial retinal implants and pharmaceutical and nutritional therapies. Auburn Health Strategies invites all its friends and colleagues to participate in VisionWalk on Saturday, May 17, 2008, in Northern Virginia.  The walk raises awareness and research dollars to fight blindness and find cures for these degenerative diseases.
