Auburn Team Supports VisionWalk 2008

visionwalk-team-auburn-2008-122x108Held on a beautiful Saturday morning, VisionWalk 2008 was a tremendous success!  The Auburn Health Strategies team raised close to $1800, which will help immensely in the fight against blindness.

With an enthusiastic crowd, teams walked 5K and indulged in lots of goodies. Most excitingly, the New England Journal of Medicine recently published news of gene therapy studies where three young adult patients with early onset congenital blindness demonstrated an improved ability to see.

These preliminary results are due in part to research funded by the Foundation Fighting Blindness, which VisionWalk supports. Leading-edge research in genetics, gene therapy, retinal cell transplantation, artificial retinal implants and pharmaceutical and nutritional therapies are all made possible with funding from the Foundation and its VisionWalk event.

Thanks for being part of the Auburn Health Strategies team!
